 Our Roots

Spire has its origins in passion for property. In March 1999, Rodney Squire-Howe and Bruce Kerswill brought together a wealth of skills and experience in various aspects of property to establish Spire. The intention in creating Spire was to combine a strategic approach with attention to detail and a personal touch. The driving force behind the new venture was to play a niche role delivering an unusual level and combination of service to clients, with the focus on adding value.

Soon after its inception, in order to most effectively deliver the high degree of service envisaged, Spire acquired Ovland Management Services, with its established infrastructure and long track record of experience in property and financial management. The resulting group was extensively restructured, dynamic new specialist property management skills were acquired and state-of-the-art property-specific information technology systems installed.

In the years since its formation Spire has grown rapidly, and is now firmly established as a significant national property asset management group. Today Spire, with its head office in Cape Town and regional offices in Sandton and Durban, manages a large portfolio of property assets for private, corporate and institutional clients.

Spire remains inspired by property, true to the original vision, and is defined by its talented people, its exceptional systems, and its unique approach which balances the strategic with detail.

> Philosophy          > Leadership

" We recognise that today it is no longer enough to respond to a rapidly changing market in order to maximise returns from our client's property portfolios. Instead we endeavour to anticipate change, and where possible, lead it "
